EQUIPMENT

LISTON AUDIO owns and rents out location sound equipment. All of our gear is well-maintained, modern and the best available. The lists below are just  a sampling.

Wireless Systems

We employ wireless systems from Zaxcom, Lectrosonics and Comtek.  Our basic ENG Kit has 3 Channels of wireless Lavs, and up to 7 are available in the bag, and 12 on the cart.

We have wireless hops to cameras with built-in Timecode generators or "Lockit Boxes" as they are known. We have custom cables for RED Epic (Dragon), Red Pro I/O, Arri Amira, Arri  Alexa, Arri Alexa XT, and standard ENG style camera XLR with BNC.

Current Wireless:

4 X Zaxcom Digital with recorders on each transmitter

6X Lectrosonics  for up to 7 in bag, 12 on a cart

13 IFB "Comteks"

Up to three wireless camera hops with TC

Microphones

We love our Schoeps shotgun microphones, but have Sennheiser and Neuman as well. For Lav Mics we employ mostly Sanken COS-11ds, but also have Tram and Countryman mics for special uses.

We have three boom poles for different applications. We have our own Beefy Baby stand with mount and sandbags for interviews and wides.

Current Boom Poles:

 6' for Run & Gun

12' for  ENG  &  Reality

18' for Wides and Studio

We also have 4 Sanken CUB-01 ceiling mics that are amazing for doing  cars. Recording a car interior is one of the most difficult things for a  field recordist, and these are the ultimate tools that few mixers have in their kit.

Microphone list for field work:

Schoeps CMUIT-5U Shotgun

Schoeps CMC6 MK41

Sennheiser 416 Shotgun

Sanken COS-11Ds X 5

Sanken CUB-1 X2

AKG 414-ULS II X2 for VO

Portable sound booth

Timecode Recorders & Mixers

We use Zaxcom's flagship recorder mixer the Nomad 12 wherever we can. The Nomad can do 12 Isolated record  tracks in the bag & up to 54 timecode stamped tracks on a cart.  We use Pro Tools recording in the field to link to the Avid Venue Console. Of course, we use the Timecode slate as well whenever we are recording for film.

Current field recorders:

Zaxcom Nomad 12

Sound Devices 702T

Zoom H4n

Pro Tools HD 11 56 tracks in the field

with Orion 32 and RME FF800

Denecke  TC Generator

32 Channel Mixer

IFB Client Monitoring

Wireless headphones are great on set, but we also have several speaker control systems for Video village in remote locations.

Current IFB

 12X Comtek analog wireless IFB

3X Zaxcom ERX-2

LISTON AUDIO LOCATION SOUND SERVICES

We operate out of a classic recording studio in the heart of Madison Wisconsin. The building itself has a very interesting story and currently operates under Clutch Sound. However, it was built by Butch Vig for his projects, and Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Garbage all made platinum albums inside.
